Quick Summary
  • From Tripod Headstand, reach the arms straight back past your ears (behind the head).

  • Turn the palms up so the backs of the hands are on the floor.

  • Lift into headstand, rooting through the backs of the hands and the crown of the head.

Foundation
  • The foundation is the crown of the head and the backs of the hands reaching behind you.

  • Since you cannot grip the floor, use the pressure of the hands to anchor the balance.

Alignment
  • Maintain a tight vertical line from head to heels.

  • Keep the shoulders drawing away from the ears to protect the neck.

  • Engage the core and pelvic floor deeply to anchor the balance.

Breathe with absolute smoothness|any fluctuation in breath will disrupt the delicate balance.
